no matter what, no matter who we get around us at the end.
we all die alone. no one else can go down that path with us.
in the end, we'll brave that path untraveled, and no-one will ever be able to help. and when they reach that path, no one will help them.
this is just how reality is, so it's not worth getting upset over, but...it's worth keeping in mind for that time, right?
It may seem trite, but that's the whole point of the grim reaper, to not walk that path alone. To paraphrase, to live so well, that you can welcome death as an old friend and travel on together.
ReplyDeletebachan died because she had had a massive stroke. however, she didn't have the stroke in bed. she had got up (maybe because the pressure had prompted her to wake up and seek help?) and walked over to her dresser before she collapsed to the floor.
Deleteocchan found her in the morning, and they rushed her to the hospital, but you really can't fix that kind of damage, right?
so, now, sorry for being a jerk here. but i can't help but imagine her on the floor, struggling against a failing body to try to get up and find someone to help her. but nothing works, and so the stroke bleeds out her persona until she's lost to the world.
that's the kind of dying alone i dread. the slow suffering as your agency is removed by inches. the panicking sorrow as your body stops functioning, and you simply have to wait for your brain to die.
no one walks that path with you. no one but despair.
sorry, this was extra morbid and sad. just. this? right?
